May 15, 2018        Irish Banquet in Bunratty Folk Park

Our Irish banquet was a BLAST!  Surrounding Bunratty Castle, is Bunratty Folk Park where they have recreated a tiny village complete with homes built true to the times.  In this village, is where we went to eat our Irish banquet.  The food was upstaged by the entertainment.  There was singing, Irish dancing, and of course, a sing along.  Enjoy the post.  Maybe you can feel like you were there with us!

Just arriving with the stage in the background.

Our first course was salad with a hard boiled egg.

Our server, Gary, is quite the dancer!  https://youtu.be/vUlPwA7bygA

Our MC.

This is challenging when they have plied you with Mead and all the wine you can drink!  https://youtu.be/ndWFRJ4_egQ

Apple pie for dessert, but in all honesty, the Irish don't know how to make apple pie like Americans!

The main course was a choice of salmon, Irish stew, or vegetable quiche.

A big plate of boiled potatoes came with the main courses.  "Best potatoes I've ever had!" says Rod.

The end to a fabulous evening!

Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears (this is a beautiful, sad song about immigration for a 15 year old Irish girl. Find it by any artist in it's entirety on youtube and listen.)  https://youtu.be/sH2YcvRrExg

I hope you enjoyed your banquet with us!
