Morgan Sibling Interviews!

Hey everyone! So I thought it would be fun for you guys to hear my siblings’ thoughts on Europe thus far, so I came up with some questions to ask them (and myself J). I conducted the interviews in London; here are the results! ~Grace
Just an FYI: Anything written in parentheses in my siblings’ answers was interjected by me in order to clear up any confusion. Otherwise, it’s in their own words.

What was your favorite location that we stayed in overnight?

Collin (20 years old): I would say…. Honestly, probably Alhaurin (first house in Spain) because you could wake up in the morning, eat an orange fresh off the tree, enjoy the sunrise, all while being in your jammies without being freezing cold.
Grace (Me, 17 y/o): Alhaurin, because it was the first stop on our European tour, the house was roomy and comfortable, and the views were amazing!
Simon (15): Austria, because it was cozy, the beds were comfy, the showers worked, and you could put lots of toilet paper down the toilet!
Aaron (13): Vomp, Austria, because I had my own bed, and it was a town, not a city.
Paul (11): Florence, because the house was nice and there were cool things to see, and I could stay up pretty late because my bed was in the middle of the house. (All four boys slept in the living room on two queen-sized sofa beds for three nights)
Clare (8): Probably the Austria house… I liked the house but I didn’t like the wifi…

Which moment on this trip, positive or negative, stands out to you the most?

Collin: Well, I have 3: First off, climbing the mountain in Competa (2nd house in Spain), seeing the views, being able to spin in 360 and not having to look up at anything. Second, when the middle finger on my right hand touched the Pope’s knuckle on his right hand. And third was seeing dream cars for a whole entire day.
Grace: Seeing Les Miserables on the West End in London! I laughed, I cried, I had the best time of my life!
Simon: Definitely when the conveyor belt stopped at the airport in Rome and my suitcase wasn’t there…
Aaron: The first time we walked into St. Peter’s in Rome. I liked that feeling, walking into a church and just being like whoaaaaa!!!!! I stood there for like a minute or two, than started walking around.
Paul: When we first saw the Eiffel Tower, because I’ve heard about it so much and seeing it was just like WOW!!!
Clare: When we were climbing down the ditch thingy, in Competa (Spain). (While we were hiking some trails, we decided to off-road it down a slope to get back on the main road)

Which language would you be most interested in learning someday?

Collin: Spanish. It sounds the coolest.
Grace: French, because it sounds so unique and it’d be fun to use it in France.
Simon: German, because it’s fun and easier to learn than Spanish and stuff.
Aaron: Probably… Spanish, because you can use it in a lot of countries. Anything but Latin!
Paul: Spanish. It’s easy to learn, even though I don’t know like any of it.
Clare: Probably German.

What is your favorite thing to eat in Europe?

Collin: Ricotta cheese cannoli in Rome. But Spanish clementines were really, really good too.
Grace: The pastries in Rome were amazing, especially the croissants.
Simon: Paninis from the panini maker in Florence.
Aaron: Delices! (We first discovered them in Italy, and they’re pronounced DEH-lee-chays (similar to a Little Debbie’s, but waaaay better, like a little chocolate cake with fudge and cream inside, and coated with chocolate))
Paul: Gelato!
Clare: Probably gelato. The pizzas not as good as America’s.

What do you miss the most about America?

Collin: The people, for sure.
Grace: My friends and family.
Simon: Would you like me to send you my list? That’s a really hard question… I just really miss everything! My friends, my school, my stuff, being able to get away from my family, and knowing how the system works.
Aaron: My friends. And just knowing where everything is. And Allendale. And my Xbox!
Paul: Penny.
Clare: Penny. Well I miss my friends a lot, but I’m FaceTiming them.

Do you miss Penny? (Our dog)

Collin: I miss her snuggles, and that’s about it.
Grace: Yes! I miss her happy little face greeting me whenever I come home.
Simon: Yes. She’s the only thing that’s excited to see me in the morning. Do I miss taking her out and scooping her poop? NO!
Aaron: No. I miss when she greets me when I come home, but I don’t miss taking care of her.
Paul: (This is a bit obvious, but I asked him anyway!) Yes.
Clare: Yes. (Once again, kinda obvious!)

Where would you visit again if given the opportunity?

Collin: The Alps in summer, but I do wanna spend some more time in Paris.
Grace: Paris, because we really only scratched the surface, and I loved exploring it and seeing all the museums.
Simon: Austria’s gonna take the cake. I’m not a big city person. Rome was nah, Alhaurin (Spain) was okay… (He kinda went on a Simon ramble after this…)
Aaron: I wanna come back to London. Because it’s so huge and there’s so much to see. And I love British accents!
Paul: Probably Paris. Because we spent only 3 days there, and I’m pretty sure there was lots more to see. It was really pretty; lots of green space.
Clare: Competa (Spain). Wait, actually, Austria.

How many times have you freaked out on this entire trip?

Collin: No less than 10.
Grace: Maybe 12-ish.
Simon: 72.
Aaron: Probably 17. I just freak out when we get on a plane, or miss our train! Maybe more like 20…
Paul: Probably 58. I’ve been stressed out a lot!
Clare: I dunno, I haven’t freaked out very much over here…

If you have any questions about the trip or that you want to ask one of us, please comment below! :)

More London stuff to come!

  1. Hi Morgans,
I love the interviews. My favorite post so far. I have three questions. Is there any person or people that you have met that made a big impression on you, that you will never forget, would love to see again or plan to keep in touch with? My second question is, What has been the biggest surprise to you about the trip, what didn't you expect or what was different, better or worse than anticipated? Thirdly, What was the funniest and or weirdest thing you have seen or the funniest moment you have experienced so far?
