April 10-13, 2018     Good-bye London, Hello English Countryside!


We picked up two cars from Heathrow Airport and drove approximately 2.5 hours into the beautiful English countryside.  And by "beautiful," I mean, "beee-uuuu-ti-ful!  Mind you, I didn't see a lot of it at first because I was too busy concentrating on driving on the opposite side of the road AND shifting gears with my LEFT HAND!  Thank goodness, the gas pedal and brake were still in the same place.

The green pastures dotted with fluffy sheep and new lambs helped relieve the knot of stress that previously was my stomach muscle.  We drove in the on-coming traffic lane only once, and soon pulled into the Old Rectory which would be our home for the next 12 days.

We didn't venture out for the first two days except to hunt and gather food and recover from our Paris/London back to back adventures.

Grace has made tea for us a number of times in the dining room.  I will post more pictures of the house later.

We found the local barber and got a few haircuts.  This is Aaron.

This is Paul.  The barber was a wealth of information regarding the local area.  His accent was thick, but we caught most of it!

Here is Simon.  It was close to closing time when he finished, so Collin and Rod came back the next day.  Sorry, I don't have before and after pictures!

We found plenty of board games in the house.
